Overview
- ProofBox helps users store and manage purchase proofs such as receipts, product details,
and warranty information.
- Authentication is handled via Sign in with Apple.
- All receipt data and attachments are stored locally on the user’s device.
- ProofBox does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
- Optional notifications may be used for reminders (for example, warranty expiration).
- Cloud backup and sync may be available as an optional paid feature.
1. About ProofBox
ProofBox (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile application developed by an independent developer.
The App is designed to help users securely store and organize information related to purchased goods.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Authentication — Sign in with Apple
ProofBox uses Sign in with Apple for authentication.
When you sign in, Apple provides:
- An app-specific user identifier
- Your email address (real or private relay, based on your Apple settings)
- Authentication tokens
We do not receive your Apple ID password.
ProofBox does not maintain its own login/password system.
2.2 Purchase and Receipt Data (Local Storage)
ProofBox stores purchase-related information locally on your device.
This may include:
- Photos or scans of receipts
- Product names and descriptions
- Purchase dates and prices
- Warranty periods and expiration dates
- Attached files related to a purchase
This data is stored only on your device and is not uploaded to our servers by default.
2.3 Cloud Backup and Sync (Optional)
ProofBox may offer an optional cloud backup and restore feature as part of a paid subscription.
When enabled:
- Your data is prepared on your device before backup.
- The backup is used solely to restore your data in case of device loss or reinstallation.
- The service is not used for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
2.4 Notifications
If you allow notifications, ProofBox may send reminders related to your stored items, such as:
- Warranty expiration reminders
- Important app-related alerts
Notification content is generated from your local app data.
2.5 Diagnostics
ProofBox does not include analytics or tracking SDKs.
Apple may collect optional crash reports and diagnostics if enabled at the system level.
We may view this information in aggregated form to improve app stability.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contract performance — to provide the app’s core functionality
- Legitimate interests — ensuring reliability and security
- Consent — notifications and optional diagnostics
4. Data Retention
- Local purchase data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud backup data (if enabled) is retained only while your subscription is active.
- Authentication tokens are removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
5. Where Data Is Processed
- Purchase data is processed locally on your device.
- Optional backups are stored securely for restoration purposes.
- Authentication is handled by Apple.
6. Sharing with Third Parties
- No advertising partners
- No sale of personal data
- No third-party analytics
ProofBox does not sell or share your personal data.
7. Security
- Secure on-device storage

8. Your Rights
You control your data directly within the app.
You can delete individual items or remove all data by uninstalling the app.
9. Children
ProofBox is not intended for users under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The updated version will be available in the App.
12. Account Deletion
ProofBox accounts are linked to Sign in with Apple.
To remove your data:
- Delete your stored items inside the App
- Uninstall the App from your device
- Optionally revoke Sign in with Apple access in your Apple ID settings
